ECB Build for Gabe. He was looking for a classic steel bike that could double as a commuter and a weekend rider. The result was this, a 1987 Trek 400 Elance 56cm frame with full Shimano Ultegra 6500 9 speed group. The Elance 400 is a classic lugged frame constructed in the USA with Reynolds 531 featuring fender mounts, an excellent choice for a classy Seattle commuter. We will probably be adding some Velo-Orange fenders come next winter to keep him dry on the commute while remaining classy. The bike rides comfortably and smooth, but still has enough true road bike in its blood in its geometry to feel lively on those weekend rides.

Classy looking bike, nicely rebuilt. Love the blue paint, too bad bikes don’t come with nice paint like that anymore (mostly).
